Earn Money Quick With a Yard Sale

After 12 years in our family home raising 2 kids, we have more things than they could possibly ever need. By type of media up slowly, but before you realize that your house packed to the rafters with pieces of furniture, fixtures, decorations and toys in abundance, it was time for a garage sale!

In the UK, where I live, people tend to get rid of unwanted items at car boot sales. In fact, these are so common and popular one could say that they are a British institution. If you are not familiar with the concept I will explain, the car boot sales are normally held in a Sunday school playgrounds, fields or other open spaces. Members of the public can pay a small fee (usually around $ 10) to a field where they can park their cars and sell all their stuff is normally packed in the trunk (hence the name).

Anyway for us the idea of doing a car boot while sales appeal, it was unrealistic, given the amount of disorder that had to get rid of, much more than our small family motor can handle. To be honest I am a bit lazy so I do not like the idea of getting up early on Sunday morning, as it is the only day I become a little longer.

So my husband suggested we do a yard sale. In the first case we contacted the local council to see if there where restrictions on doing one, who advised us not allowed to put posters up on trees, lampposts or traffic signals. Besides, were not willing to put leaflets through mailboxes from our neighbor either. Presumably they would need a business license if we wanted to do any of these activities will undoubtedly applies to us.

To avoid this we have created a banner that hung from the front of the bay at top window. We have on hand and wrote in big letters "Yard Sale this Saturday at 11. We have also created some great posters and recorded in our wheeled bin to the end of our unit and left it there for the week.

Our promotion modestly paid big time. Let 11AM on Saturday we had a number of potential customers eagerly waiting to pull out our trash so they could through trawls. In fact, all day we had a steady stream of customers to buy everything on the site. In fact what struck me were willing to pay good money!

Exhausted but encouraged by the end of the day you can withdraw at our house and count the takings. We had made over $ 200 and got rid of a lot of unwanted items. And the result was amazing and the whole family were absolutely delighted.
